About Our Church

Nechako Christian Fellowship was founded in the early 1980s. The initial focus was to provide Christian education to the church community, so with the founding of the Fellowship also came the founding of the School. Sadly, the school closed in 2009, but the church remains committed to providing opportunities for post-secondary education for its young graduates.

The church original membership was predominately made up of those with a Mennonite heritage, but has expanded its outreach and welcomes any and all that love the Lord Jesus Christ and desire to know Him better through His Word, and desire to worship Him in spirit and in truth.

Our Sunday services are reverent and orderly, with the singing of hymns of the faith. We are a non-denominational body of believers committed to historic Christianity as articulated in the earliest Church creeds.

Our Pastors

Pastor Kevin

Kevin and Esther are both lifetime residents of Vanderhoof, BC (although Esther was born Belize). They have 3 amazing children, who are all still at home, for a little while longer, anyway.

Kevin was originally called into the pastorate as a lay-pastor to join the 2 other lay pastors in 2014. When the church decided to hire a full-time pastor after the tragic passing of Pastor Scott, he was offered the position and accepted this responsibility in 2018.

Pastor Kevin, although unschooled, is interested in natural theology, especially the theological, philosophical, and historical evidences for the existence of God and the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. When possible, he tries to touch on this topic in his sermons but is committed to the Gospel of Jesus Christ during each Sunday morning worship.

He also enjoys classical music, playing his violin, playing golf, and reading. He and his wife love the Lord, love their family, and love their community and hope that the ministry of Nechako Christian Fellowship can reach out to those that need the light of the Gospel.
